Quitting Time by Robert Brunelle

As Thanksgiving draws near, many American’s are wondering what there is to be thankful about. I can tell you from first hand experience that if you’re without a job, you will definitely question what there is to be thankful for.

You worry how to pay the utilities, because it will be a struggle to live without running water or heat in the winter. Today’s economy has presented us all with many obstacles that seem to be screaming in our ears – impossible.

I do not make light of the struggles we face, having to face many myself. It is without a doubt so hard on so many people right now.

So what is there to be thankful about? I too, am worn out from life’s hardships. When I ques- tioned my six children, carefully choosing my words for they each have been affected by hard times, I was amazed at their replies.
